My "chain" pizza place customer service experience

Have you ever went somewhere and got horrible customer service? Well this epidemic is happening more and more.  What you need to do is speak out when this stuff happens. What I do is save the receipt because it usually has key information so when you go to the website of the company that you got bad customer service from and find the "contact us" link. It is usually at the bottom of their site. You may have to fill out some forms and give an address and maybe a phone number. Sometimes you need information from your receipt. Usually takes about 5-10 minutes to tell your side of the story and what you disliked about the customer service you received.

There is a chain pizza place in the town where I live in Oregon I have ordered pizza from this place many times every time I order my pizza with extra olives. I can say most of the time I don't get my extra olives. A few times they gave me a free pizza for the mistake. What really got me from this "chain" pizza place is one night after working a 12 hour day I got home too lazy to make my own food so I figured lets call the "chain" pizza place and order a pizza. I get it all ordered online and 10 minutes later I get a call from the "chain" pizza place and they said that they are closed because of no customers. Once I got off the phone I went to the "chain" pizza place website and went and hit the contact us link and told them what happened. Well a few weeks goes by and I receive in the mail 2 coupons for a free pizza. I think cool lets go to 2 different locations and see how the customer service is.

The first location I went to the "chain" pizza place in a different town. This location you can dine-in if you like. Me and my kids decided that is what we wanted to do. Around 6-7 PM normally you would see others eating inside a pizza place. Well that is what I remember from my younger years when I lived in a different part of Oregon. Well we were the only table in the empty "chain" pizza place waiting for a pizza to eat. I ordered my pizza with extra olives plus a side of breadsticks. While waiting looking around the restaurant I see the place looks like it needs to be vacuumed very messy. Normally while waiting for your pizza if you order breadsticks those come before the pizza. Well at this place the pizza and breadsticks came to the table the same time.  The pizza had extra olives. I was not really satisfied with the service I received. The waitress we had took forever to come around to ask if we wanted a refill on our soda. Being the only table dining-in I figured customer service would be a lot better. I was wrong. When I paid that is when I pulled out the coupon for the free pizza. I did not leave a tip. Did not think the waitress deserved one.

The second location I went to the "chain" pizza place in another town I ordered the same thing a pizza with extra olives and breadsticks and some drinks. This time was very similar to my first experience. This time there was another table dining-in. This location looked cleaner then the first. Our wait to get 3 cups of soda took forever and a day. Then when our pizza finally made it to our table there was no extra olives and no breadsticks. I asked the waitress why was there no extra olives on my pizza. She stated that she could go get a side of some sliced olives and I could put them on my pizza. I told her that is not how I ordered my pizza. I told her when a customer orders a pizza she is the one that needs to make sure it is what the customer wanted.  I was mad and hungry so I ate the pizza. Totally forgetting the fact that I ordered breadsticks. Never did the waitress come and ask if we wanted refills on our soda.  When I went to pay and pulling out the free pizza coupon I had to tell them that I never received breadsticks. They tried to make it up to me and give me some breadsticks to eat at home. I declined them. I wanted them before my pizza got to my table but customer service has been going downhill for awhile now. So if you don't speak up things like what I experienced will continue. I saved the receipt. On the receipt it says "EXTRA OLIVES".  The waitress I had left I guess her work shift was over. Normally when that happens the waitress will come over and say "Hey I am having to go because my shift is over but this waitress is taking my place."  This place also did not get a tip from me. I felt the customer service was not there. It was really lacking.

I used the receipt to contact the "chain" pizza place. So far all I got was a reply saying thanks for letting them know of the situation and I maybe contacted by the second location if they have questions. These dine-in pizza places when I was younger usually packed around dinner time and most of the time have great customer service. Good customer service boosts a business in good ways. One of them is free advertising. Word of mouth is still popular for telling good things about a business. But then word of mouth and help ruin a business. When people ask where to get a good pizza usually people will name 2-3 good ones and then also in that sentence say the ones to avoid and they will give you reason why. I know from my experience I won't be going to this "chain" pizza place anymore to eat. I will go elsewhere possible spending more money but when it comes to how you want to be treated as a customer you go where they have great customer service.

Remember to speak out when your customer service experience is not what you expected and hopefully the time you spent telling them about your experience will help make the place a better place once again.
